Australian Made Battle Dress Blouse 1942

During WW2 Australian forces did not wear British Battle Dress, opting to wear their own made Service Dress uniform, however they did manufacture BD for export to other commonwealth countries, mainly Britain. This example was made in 1942 and has the smoother greener shade to the wool fabric. Overall the jacket is in very good condition save for a few tiny moth holes on the front left pocket and holes on each upper sleeve where insignia has been removed. The size label is obscured but it fits our mannequin which has a roughly 35″ (89cm) waist and 41″ (104cm) chest. All the pressed metal buttons are present except the top front beneath the hook and eye collar fasteners.
