Bulgarian Army Padded Trousers TRO43

These ex-Bulgarian Army padded trousers are straight out of the Cold War. Originally a Soviet Russian pattern introduced during the “Great Patriotic War”, they were worn along with a padded jacket (see our Bulgarian Padded Quilt Jacket) by many Eastern Bloc armies up to the 1980’s. Unpacking these we realised there are two slightly different models which we’ll call “A” & “B”. Both are thick padded quilted cotton made with fabric waste and both have a button fly and belt loops. The “A” models have two slash pockets, leg cuff ties and a rear waist cinch strap. The “B” models simply have two front patch pockets and a hip patch pocket. The “A” model is available in 76cm & 80cm only while the “B” model is available in 84cm, 88cm and 92cm only. All leg lengths are roughly 76cm.
