French Army “M47” Double Buckle Boots BTS02

During WW2 the French Army made extensive use of American uniforms and equipment. Post-war, this was one item that was very well liked and so continued to be made by and for the French Military. Copied from the US Army M1943 Double Buckle Combat Boot, these were now called the French Army M1947 boot and saw service until the 1970’s. Made from rough-side out full grain leather and featuring a welted sole, these boots lace half way up then close with a wrap around double buckle flap to fully support the calf (note – there are manufacturing variations, some are stitched, some are riveted, they will be picked at random) The boots we have are NOS (new old stock) and have been in storage since the 1950’s so they will have the usual storage dirt/dust/scuffs etc but more importantly the leather is very thick and stiff and will need generous amounts of Dubbin/oil/saddle soap etc to soften and it break in. Modern boots are made of thiner softer leather with moulded soles ready to be worn straight away. These boots are made the more traditional way and with some patience and mahi you will have a good sturdy pair of boots that will last a lot longer.Available in the following sizes (note – we recommend getting a size bigger than your usual to allow for thick sox and a padded insole):

– EU40 – UK6 – US7

– EU41 – UK7 – US8

– EU42 – UK8 – US9

– EU43 – UK9 – US10
