NZ Pouch Ammunition Large

The Australian experience in Vietnam showed that there was a need for a 37 pattern sized pouch, but one compatible with the newly introduced US M56 equipment. Thus the “Australian Ammunition Pouch Large” was designed and was used by Aus/NZ forces throughout the conflict. This is the NZ made version that were issued from 1974 onwards and later evolved into the ripstop canvas “Steyr” pouch. This pouch has clearly had a life but is still complete and is an interesting piece of NZ Army equipment history.
